Like always, the guys over at XDA have managed to get their hands on some MS software before it is released. In a recent post by XDA member, he actually acquired a leaked ROM for an HTC device called HTC Mondrian (Cingular USA). The information is very limited but from what I see this could be like 6.5, which was leaked, hacked and flashed on all devices. There isn’t much information on this leaked ROM as if it could be flashed or not, but do not worry the guy Da_G is working on it:

Hey guys

This .nbh is unsigned, I made a private build of NBHImageTool to work with unsigned .nbh, after I clean up the code a bit I’ll update my thread with that. For now here’s the .nbh dump:

http://hotfile.com/dl/42937584/47038…g_WP7.rar.html

Note that the os.nb inside bears a D000FF header, which is different from a WM 6.x .nb, .nb0, or .bin.. it also has no FlashLayoutSector and no IMGFS. So more than likely none of the existing tools will work to dump that yet. I’ll get on the job after I update NBHImageTool

This is pretty cool. Many have killed any chance of the HD2 getting the update, well maybe XDA will be delivering this update for you. I just hope I can flash this ROM, not break my phone, and be able to do a great review for you.

It is still too early to say if a ROM is possible, but at this time it seems very likely due to the format similarity, and from what Da_G(if you do not know him, then just know he is simple awesome at what he does, he is the reason for cooked ROM– for the most part) is saying in his post.

Update: Da_G is working over time on this now, and posted this update:

Hey

After further examining the file, there is indeed an IMGFS inside, the D000FF format appears to be a new “store” type of .bin, will need to figure out the format for it to pull out imgfs (because just cutting in a hex editor gives you some invalid data)

Also, IMGFS is compressed with XPH (rather than XPR or LZX as we’re used to)

Comment below and tell us what you think, and follow us on twitter to say updated on this matter.
